The honeybee is a symbol of friendship in Lithuania.
The Lithuanian Museum of Ancient Beekeeping near Stripeikiai was established in 1984 by the beekeeper Bronius Kazlas. The museum pays homage to the honeybee's place in local mythology and folklore.
The museum display the traditional practices of apiculture which use logs, tree hives, and skep hives.
