History

The Colony Bees Association established on the 1st of November 2021 as a registered Australian charity and an incorporated Association of NSW.

We maintain regular involvement with a global community including the International Federation of Beekeepers Associations, the International Federation of Apitherapy and the broader community of Bee Guardians.

Based on Bundjalung Country, Northern Rivers, and ever inspired by the landscape of the Great Southern Lands.

2025 State of the Bee Report

The State of the Bee Report for Season 4 defines a path for the recognition, protection, and cultivation of wild Honeybees and their habitat.

With research from leading apiculture experts, including Seeley, the Colony Bees Association’s founding report aligns with international best practices to deliver Australia’s first dedicated resource for wild bee conservation. The report advances three key recommendations:

  • Rewilding Honeybee Conservation
  • Medicinal Apiculture
  • Indigenous Wisdom and Creativity
