Happy Madhu Purnima
"What is important is the divine power that resides between you and me"
The opening of the Wild Honey Expedition for Season 5 began with the Madhu Purnima celebration in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 26 September 2026.
The gathering took place at the Atish Deepankar Prayer Hall within the Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery, where community offered vessels of honey alongside fresh seasonal fruits, sweets, and offerings of goodwill.
The Colony Bees’ honey offering from Australia made the journey intact, carefully protected in violet Miron glass. Our offering presented a signature Australian nectar directly at the Madhu Purnima offering table.
It was an honour to witness the offerings, listen to the discourse, and share a communal meal together. As Season 5 unfolds, we carry the spirit of Madhu Purnima with us—reminded that honey is a language of honeybee wildlife.
Our journey looks toward the mangrove wilderness of the Sundarbans—the largest mangrove ecosystem on Earth and home to Apis dorsata, the giant honeybee. Here, wild colonies build their combs high in the canopies of Gewa, Goran, and Khalshi trees, yielding a medicinal wild honey shaped by tides and monsoon. This honey hunt is the practice of the Mawalis, the honey hunters and forest guardians.
With boundless compassion,
The Colony Bees
