AAA Conference 2026 Fuzhou, China

18th Asian Apicultural Association (AAA) Conference 2026: Review

Dates & Venue: October 15–18, 2026 | Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China

Australasian Apiculture Scientific Collaboration

  • Regional Partnerships: Australian apicultural scientists collaborate across the Asia Pacific region to study honeybee health and ecological interactions.
  • Apis cerana resilience: Apis cerana displays pronounced resistance mechanisms that contribute to the genetic advancement of Australias native honeybees.
  • Apis mellifera plays a massive role in China's apiculture industry, operating alongside the Eastern honeybee (Apis cerana).
  • Research centers and universities across China actively study Apis mellifera alongside Apis cerana.
  • Apis cerana cerana is referred to as the Chinese honeybee or Zhonghua mifeng.

Conference Exhibition Feature: "The Honey Bar"

The exhibition floor hosted the dedicated "Asia Honey Bar" providing a platform for regional floral and wild honeys.

Conference Key Themes

Bee Venom & Melittin: Therapeutic Mechanisms: Membrane permeability: Melittin, a principal 26-amino-acid peptide, integrates directly into phospholipid bilayer. It creates membrane permeability and facilitates cell lysis in targeted antimicrobial pathways.

Major Royal Jelly Proteins (MRJPs): Function

  • MRJP1 (Royalactin): Activates epidermal growth factor.
  • MRJP2–MRJP5: Provide essential balanced amino acid profiles for developing larvae and supplying antimicrobial peptides.
  • MRJP6–MRJP7: Initates immune defense within the hive.
  • MRJP8–MRJP9: Expressed primarily in venom gland tissues, serving specialized roles in chemical defense.

Governance of Apiculture

The development, protection, and promotion of apiculture (beekeeping) are legally codified and governed under the Animal Husbandry Law of the People's Republic of China.

Article 47: The State encourages the development of apiculture and protects the lawful rights and interests of bee-keepers.
