Colony Bees join Apimondia

The Colony Bee Association is proud to announce its official membership with Apimondia, the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations. This significant milestone marks a chapter in our commitment to global cooperation, research, and the advancement of Apiculture.

We first met with the President of Apimondia, Jeff Pettis at the Apis Silvatica Conference in Pantelleria for World Bee Day 2022 and are delighted to become an Associate Member.

Apimondia, established in 1895, serves as the world’s leading platform for sharing scientific knowledge, technical innovation, and policy development in apiculture. Membership in this respected organization aligns with the Colony Bee Association's mission to promote healthy bee populations, empower local beekeepers, and contribute to global food security through pollinator protection.

“Becoming a member of Apimondia strengthens our connection to the international  community of Apiculture and improves our nations knowledge on wild bee conservation, bee hunting and natural beekeeping practices,” Spencer Alexander White, Director of the Colony Bee Association.

By joining Apimondia, the Colony Bee Association gains access to a global network of researchers, apiculturists, and policymakers working toward a shared goal: protecting bees and the ecosystems they support. This collaboration opens the door to valuable resources, including the latest scientific research, international forums, and participation in major global events like the 2025 Apimondia Congress in Copenhagen, where representatives from the Colony Bee Association will be proudly in attendance.

For members of the Colony Bee Association, this affiliation means more opportunities for knowledge-sharing, professional development, and international recognition.

Our delegates will hold one vote at this year’s Apimondia General Assembly, allowing us to actively contribute to the federation’s decision-making process.
